King Cake/Galette Des Rois
- 8 Servings
- 1 fève and 2 crowns included
The King Cake or Galette Des Rois is a puff pastry full of almond cream that is traditionally eaten in France for the Festival of Epiphany, which takes place on January 6th. Traditionally, a fève (small trinket) is baked inside of the cake. During the slicing, the youngest child is to hide under the table and dictate who each slice is given to. Whoever receives the slice with the hidden fève, then gets to be King/Queen for the day, and chooses his/hers King/Queen! Adorning crowns, as royalty should.
